Hello there, my darling visitor! Whether you’re a curious newcomer or one of our brilliant staff members still knee-deep in boxes, welcome to Shork Group HQ Island—our dazzling new central campus in the OpenSimulator Metaverse!

We’ve finally reeled in all our wonders from across the grid and docked them neatly on this one magnificent island—designed with the fabulous Universal Campus setup. It’s still a little bit of organized chaos as of April 2025, but don’t worry—we sharks thrive in motion!

Here’s what you can discover:

• 🔰 New here? Start with our Intro Course to learn how to move, explore, and make the most of the island’s features. We’ll have you teleporting like a pro in no time!
• 🧍‍♀️🦊 Need an avatar? Pick your style from our wardrobe:
  • Classic human avatars
  • Ruth & Roth mesh bodies
  • And, of course, our signature Shork Group anthropomorphic avatars, full of charm, tail-wags, and personality!
• 📦 Need a place to unpack and tinker? Head over to the heli-pad! It’s our rez zone—great for testing builds, playing with scripts, or just letting your inner mad scientist shine.
• 👗 Looking sharp? Help yourself to free standard clothing and gear compatible with all our avatars, right here on the island.
• 🎓 Got a class or event? We have cozy lecture halls with free-to-use video screens—perfect for workshops, watch parties, or just some clever banter.
• 🎥 Going big? Our main auditorium features a glorious video wall—ideal for presentations, product launches, and maybe a musical number or two.
• 🎉 Ready to dance? Check out the party hall! Dance floor, rooftop café, even a piercing studio if you’re feeling spicy.
• 💼 Working hard? Our conference room has sleek seating for corporate talks, plus connected workstations for the busy bees.
• 🗼 Curious explorer? Don’t miss the Avatarium Tower! From rooftop observatory to the deep sub-surface auditorium, with floors of avatars to try on and admire—it's the crown jewel of avatar design.

Below you find the rough map for Shork Group HQ Island:

Most people will want to visit the Avatarium to look for a new avatar.
Others may want to walk to the Artists Lighthouse to learn about the people creating the avatars for Shork Industries.
Some may wish to visit the Research- & Medical Facility.
Yes, “medical research facility” would have been smarter.
But the 'medical' aspect came only after a lot of 'research' had happened…

Step 1: Launch Firestorm

• Open your installed Firestorm Viewer.
• Make sure you are using the OpenSimulator version of Firestorm (not the Second Life-only version).

Step 2: Open the Grid Manager

• At the Firestorm login screen (before you log in), find and click “Grid Manager” (sometimes called “Viewer Grid Selection” or just “Grid Manager”).
• If you don't see it immediately:
  • Press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + G to open the Grid Manager manually.

Step 3: Add the Shork Group Grid

• In the Grid Manager window, click “Add” or “Create New Grid”.
• Fill out the fields as follows:
  • Grid Name: Shork Group
  • Login URI: http://shorkgroup.opensim.fun:24002/
  • Login Page: (leave blank — Firestorm should fetch it automatically after you save)
  • Grid Type: Select OpenSimulator if available.

Step 4: Save the New Grid

• Click “Apply” or “Save”.

Step 5: Select the Shork Group Grid

• Now back at the login screen:
  • In the Grid drop-down menu, select Shork Group.
  • Enter your Username (“Forename Familyname”) and Password for your Shork Group account.
  • Click Login.

Step 6: First Connection

• Your “username” consists of the combination of your accounts first and last name with an empty space in between, your password you'll have received from the Shork Group member that created the account for you.
  Like “Name: Cookie”, “Surname: Cutter” means that your username is “Cookie Cutter”.
• On first login, Firestorm may take a few seconds longer while it fetches the Shork Group grid info.
• After logging in, you can start exploring!
• You arrive at Shork Group HQ island in a pavillion - the blue arrows on the ground guide you along the training course.
  Read the signs, initial movement via cursor keys!

When you use the OpenSim enabled version of Firestorm, you'll find the two most popular grids in the selection:

• Kitely ( https://www.kitely.com )
• OSGrid ( https://www.osgrid.org )

Access one of those to create your first account there, then start Firestorm, select the corresponding “Grid” ( Kitely or OSGrid ). Enter your login credentials and you're good to go.
To access the Shork Group HQ, go to the following OpenSimWorld website:

There, copy the destination address:
shorkgroup.opensim.fun:24002:Shork Group HQ
Then, in Firestorm, open the map ( CTRL+M ) and enter the destination address into the search field of the Map.
Then, teleport to the location, assuming it'll show up correctly.
